Locations in Epicenter

This is where we are going to catalog any locations we make along the way. I'll add The Royal Astaire apartment complex shortly but all players are encouraged to put up locations they make- businesses, restaurants, cafes, etc.

The Royal Astaire apartments. Seven Floors each with apartments designated by letter.
For example if you lived on the second floor in apartment C you would live in 2C. The attic has storage and the basement houses the laundry room with it's array of machines ranging in age as well as glitches. An old drying room, from before dryers, with wires along the ceiling to hand laundry and a hot air system that seems to turn on and off at random. The basement is also home to a rather poorly lit and tiled room of showers for the handful of closet like apartments around the building with substantially lower rent but no shower of their own.

Throughout the building the residents find an array of apartments in varying sizes and states of remodel and quality. Some have not been touching since the thirties while others are cutting edge- all depending on the resident before you but definitely effecting your rent. The more nosy residents might notice that some apartments are never used and wonder if it's because the owner is away or perhaps the residence is unfit and the landlord unwilling to make repairs. Stories grow quickly around these rooms though but not as quickly as they have grown about the Third Floor. No one lives on it, the sometimes functional elevator skips it, and the door to the third floor from the stairs has been locked for as long as anyone living there can remember.

Owned by Victor Halk and though they send their rent to him every month, no one has ever seen him. A landlord named Harmon George tends to the problems of the residents in his own time and sometimes to no effect. An utterly unpredictable man, he lives on the first floor, apartment 1A.

a bar located downtown between 6th and Washington Ave.

considered a rather calm, cool place to get a bite to eat and some beer. it's usually never too crowded and the only music that ever plays there is live. sometimes it's a jazz band, others it's a lovely woman singing the blues. no smoking is allowed outside, thus the front is occasionally occupied by a few out for a smoke break.

on thursday nights, their pianist plays with a local singer. on saturday, it's request night, ask for a song and give a tip, and the pianist will usually play whatever you ask.

High Crimes

The last privately owned book store in Cook Town. Located in the old building on Saint Avenue with a steep step and a heavy door. Originally a book store centered around whodunit novels in the 40's, it is now home to everything from the latest science fiction to antique volumes stowed away in the back room.

In a vague attempt to compete with other book stores, they have recently acquired an espresso machine- though no one present knows how to use it or is willing to learn.

Owned by Burdon Jacks and sixty-seven year old man that simply refuses to sell, retire or die.
