Hype / Ello
« on: July 13, 2017, 01:52:57 am »
Did you just say hello Q?

No. I said "Ello".
I'd write something about tea, but that would just come across as far too quintisentially British.
So I'm back (no, not from out of space)
Life has been... a distraction.

But I'm very bored and need something to add my creative spark to which doesn't consist of making cards (birthday, anniversary etc. If you must know. No... Not the kind you play poker with).

I need somewhere to preferably be emo and torture the poor creatures/characters in my head.
Any indications as to which threads are open for input would be wonderful.
I'm pretty much open to anything; preferably something that doesn't require too many of my dwindling cerebral neurons.
I'm a little rusty and may need gentle prods as to correct paragraphite etiquette, but I'm here... for however long.

Please save me from night shifts. And provide a distraction from my essays...

Freestyle Roleplay / Boundaries [Closed]

"What your eyes see when you look upon the world, is not all as it seems. Beyond the veil of the smog and gloom cast over many cities, beyond the streetlights and neon signs swinging and flashing, flickering with letters missing; there is more. The strangeness that goes on all around; that not many seem to notice, is the world of what many humans would consider just fairy tales. The world of ‘monsters’ and other ghoulish things; which were and still are told to many a child as ‘bedtime stories’, are actually… very real.

We exist. Our activities are subtle, the balance vital. The vampires have their own culture, their own hierarchy of class and rank, as well as social standing, among other things. In the world of the vampires, there are Kings and Queens, as well as the Hierarchy which goes along with monarchy…Lords, Ladies, Dukes, Duchesses… etcetera, etcetera. There is also large group of 'Elders', which span… pretty much the world.
They have all given themselves titles and rank. Those guys have been alive for as long as the earth has been round. They're the top of the food chain - so to speak, so they feel they deserve respect, some will go to great lengths to accomplish this… killing anyone who disagrees with them.

Basically, the Vampiric system is a huge fucking chaotic mess which no one really understands.

The werewolves keep the balance neutral, acting as a furry shield which protects the ‘wall’, the boundaries between the living and the dead. They're the warriors, the military. They don't exactly follow orders from the Vampires (because no wolf is taking orders from deadites) but they do take their job seriously. No one, no thing which isn't meant to go in or out of the world, the realm of the dead into the living and visa versa... well.. they stop it from happening. They have a duty. They have a cause, a reason to be, a reason to keep in line. Their system is simple, basic… and works… unlike our vampiric neighbors.

And it is that balance… which must remain.

It is that balance, which is so fragile… which must be maintained.

Because otherwise... our society, and that of the humans... is well and truly fucked.

And then of course, there’s the very few humans who can see beyond the veil; the hunters. I think the less we say about them the better… for now."

The Diary of Ashley Walker - Hunter

~

The ‘court’ was overly lavish. Decorated in splendor. Fine materials, the most expensive marble, real fireplaces, kept in perfect condition night and day, much like the rest of the mansion by the young vampire servants. It didn’t seem much like a modern world in the ‘court’; however, if one was to look outside, to step out onto one of the many balconies, or to ride out into the expansive grounds, one could see the view of the sky ripping city, just on the verge of the horizon.

This place seemed like a million miles from here, and for Alexander, it was. Alexander was ‘born’ to wealth, and it showed in his mannerisms, his clothing and the style in which he wore his hair. Long and sleek and naturally raven coloured, it clashed splendidly with ethereally blue eyes. With many vampires, there was always an unnatural quality in which their eyes gleamed, and a variety of colours, many which would not be seen in human kind.

Alexander was the seventh in line to the throne, and knew that there was absolutely nothing which meant he would ever grace the “seat of power”, nor wear a crown upon his brow, and that didn’t bother him at all. He enjoyed the relative freedom of roaming the palace as he liked and occasionally was allowed into the city itself to glance upon what his father considered “the unremarkable”. He had been shown a different life out there. One of many colours, but also, one of gloom.
He had seen the alcoholics, the drug addicts, the rough thieves and scum of the vampire underclass roaming the streets. He had been taught to sneer upon them, frown upon them. He was better than them; he had always been told so. None the less, this did not stop him from the occasional visit into the dregs of society in order to play pool, or darts, or poker. It did not stop him from acquiring acquaintances which he was well aware that if his father ever knew, he would not approve of.

He was not royalty on those days. He knew better than to flash his wealth around. Knew better than to speak formally, or act differently. He knew better than to even bare the royal crest upon his clothing or handkerchiefs.

Now-a-days, he was certain he spent more time in one of the many dive bars in the city than he did in the ridiculous mansion home his parents owned.

He had plans to go there that night, to the Slaughtered Lamb. He intended to win a good few hands at cards and enjoy the company of vampires who had no airs or graces. Tonight would be a good night.

OOC Discussion / Summer boredom killer?
« on: June 19, 2015, 03:09:13 pm »
Hi guys.
So, I just finished all my essays and exams for this year.
I have a few voluntary gigs to go play with, but otherwise, I need something to occupy me so I won't get cabin fever.

Anyone want a summer writing buddy?

BTW, I literally have no ideas for plots etc, but.... I'm sure we'll figure something out.  :)

OOC Discussion / Not so Wonderland...
« on: February 04, 2015, 07:02:00 pm »
Semi inspired by The Red Paintings ''Streets Fell Into My Window''

Alice was much older now than she had been a day ago. A whole 24 hours had passed into her 21st birthday, and she had long forgotten just how many unbirthdays that was.

Things weren’t going well for Alice. Her schoolwork had hit rock bottom and her life was being left behind; much like her fading memories of Wonderland.

She had tried most drugs to remember in vivid technicolour the visions she once had painted so long ago in the forefront of her mind; the ones she had once held like a shining torch to ward away any creeping darkness; but the flames had long since dwindled in her eyes, her passion, inspiration and love of her youth gone.

She needed it back, and consequently; Wonderland too needed her back.
Wonderland was fading; its bright luminescence turning to ash and dust, the whole world crumbling around its residents.

There was only one way to find her, one way to bring her back.

~

Chess had loved Alice. He had never told her of course, after all, how could a child ever love a cat?

He was now part of a dying rebellion against the new dictator of Wonderland “The Knave” and his army, led by the notorious “Black Knight”. But Chess was losing what mind he once had, and like many of Alice’s fondest recollections, was fading into oblivion against his will and his once infamous control.

Using all the power left from the forgotten ring “The Stone of Wonderland”, he called out to her the only means he had left; through the looking glass.

~

The Hatter has other plans. His mind has been corrupted, overcome with darkness and tainted by hatred.
The Hatter never loved Alice. He only wanted to woo her so that Chess couldn’t have her. He wasn’t fading. He knew he was the star feature of many of Alice’s now ‘grown up’ dreams. And he was going to do everything in his power to distract her from helping the ‘Cat’ and ruin Wonderland.

~

So, as you can see… Wonderland is a tad different and the story begins when Chess first attempts to contact Alice. I’m looking for a heroic Alice and a Hatter predominantly. I would love to be Chess (Who in this version is not an actual cat, though he can turn into one…)
You're welcome to play around with the ideas here, and of course feel free to be a bit emo. I love it. :)

Any other characters are welcome if you can come up with a good enough reason. ;)

Ideas/Interest/Thoughts/Running around like a sparkly unicorn who’s just eaten mock turtle soup… welcome!

Writing Prompts & Challenges / Random Challenge/Game?
« on: January 13, 2015, 08:16:28 pm »
So, today... to teach us about plagiarism: the tutor got us all to think of a song we knew well and that wasn't too obscure and to paraphrase it.
I'm not too certain I was doing it right, and I thought about how you guys love a challenge.
So maybe you can teach me as we go.

So... here was my first attempt:

"No one one can be as beautiful as you
With your long red locks,
Your very pale skin and sparkling green eyes.
I cannot fight with you..."

Guess the song and take a go. :)
And let me know if I did do it right, someone... please?

Wow. It feels so damned good to have the net again from the comfort of my own home. It feels like it's been forever, despite it only being two months.

I feel I need to apologise to everyone I left in the lurch last time I was here.
I'm so sorry.

My intention is to keep a look out for shiny things to maybe join. Hopefully get back on my feet again here.

OOC Discussion / Witches
« on: August 04, 2014, 12:43:03 am »
OK, So, I started watching a series called Salem.
Which was just odd.
I haven't decided if I like it yet (I'm only 2 episodes in)
But it got me thinking. I want to do something with witches.

I don't actually know what I want, but I'd like it to include witch-hunts, trials, and dirty gritty emoness.
Not too much to ask right?

OOC Discussion / I miss this place.
« on: July 13, 2014, 10:45:21 pm »
Or rather, I miss the writing with you guys.

I'm sorry that I just dissapeared. I moved in with my fiance, and we didn't have internet at his house. (This being the very short version of the story)
Along with other life stuffs getting in the way.

Anywho, I'm back online until the end of August. I know it's not long to get something established, and that there's the danger of me just vanishing when the time comes for me to have to leave the world of the internet behind again, but I would really love to fill my spare time with something relatively meaningful.

So, any suggestions as to something I can join in with are more than welcome.

Thank you all for your patience, your understanding and your o/l love.

OOC Discussion / Something new and shiney?
« on: November 30, 2013, 01:12:43 pm »
Ok, so I don't actually know what I'm looking for, or what I want to write.
I don't have the faintest idea to be honest.

I know that I have a tendancy to write fantasy/magically/supernaturally based stuff.
I know that I'm not very good (or haven't got much experience with) crime, drama etc.

But basically I'd love to have a creative outlet. I need to write people, and this is where you come in.
Maybe we can figure something out together.
Hope so anyway.

Let's get something up before the dreaded Christmas hiatus.

Hype / Random Questions
« on: September 28, 2013, 08:48:00 pm »
Today's random question is:

What is the strangest thing you have ever eaten?

This does not just have to constitue of things like eating unusual foods, but also can include things like 'cake for breakfast' etc.

Seth was dead. The antichrist defeated.

Finally.

The Messiah lived.

They had won.

It was over.

The dog had led them away. To another village which was perhaps considered neutural ground. The thief and the Sicarii were both relatively welcome there. It was a welcome retreat for both of them. A time of rest was much needed by both of them.

Two rooms for the night were purchased, both with baths; something Will had been craving for a while. He just wanted to wash away the worry, wash away all the bad things that had happened. Of course, he wanted to question Moriah, but the words wouldn’t come to him, and he could never find the right moment to interject.

In all fairness, he wouldn’t blame her if she left the place at some point in the dead of night and he never saw her again.

~

Josh still hadn’t woken, despite the care Ethan had given to the wound. A wound they all recognised somewhere in the backs of their minds as the wound a Centurion once gave to Christ, a wound that Thomas had once doubted.
Faith was a little more than uncomfortable. It hadn’t escaped her notice that two members of their merry crew had more or less disappeared. And while she worried for Will, she worried for Josh more. And that worry won out over her need to find him and find out he was okay… that Moriah hadn’t killed him… that Seth hadn’t killed him.

“Would anyone like something to eat?” She asked the remainder of the group. It had been a long couple of days and they didn’t know when they would have to run again.

~

Caleb cursed. He could feel the change in the air. He could feel the tingling of effervescent power like a mist crawling around him.

His eyes widened in fear and realisation. There was only one reason He would be present now. Caleb had failed in his task of watching Seth. It had been too late for His son.

Seth was gone… and now, the Morning Star had come up to earth.

Welcome Noobel Blewd! / Hello
« on: September 14, 2013, 06:30:12 pm »
Well hello.
Not new to Rp, though I can tell you now that I believe myself to be considerably better at this than I used to be when I first started.
I began writing Rps in forums in 1996, which seems like a very, very long time ago now.

I just kinda wanted to say Hi, I guess. (Never know what to write in these introduction things)

Hope to Rp with you guys soon. :)
